Question: How does one find God?

Answer: By looking down. How many people have climbed mountaintops in search of Truth? How many people have performed their pilgrimages? Some will build houses for God to dwell. They will decorate altars. Some will fast. Some will chant and play music. Some will drug themselves. Some will attempt to live sinlessly. Some will pray to God that he will show himself, but whatever path people choose to find God, he will remain hidden. He will remain hidden, that is, until we look down. That is when we realize that the path on which we journey is where God has been all along.

Jesus said,

We should not ask, "which path do we choose"? Instead, we should recognize that God is the path. Wherever we are, in whatever condition, just look down. God has been supporting us all along.
