Concept #3:
Good is good. Bad is bad. In Christianity, there are moral absolutes.
Love, joy, and peace are good things. Strife, envy, hatred, murder, pain, disease, and
death are bad things. This is why we have soldiers, policemen and doctors.
On this point, Christianity separates itself from the pantheistic and nature religions, where
that which Christianity defines as bad is often considered good, and vice versa. For
example, a snake raids a nest of fuzzy-headed, baby birds. To some, Mother Nature has
provided a way to control populations - nature is always beautiful. To the Christian, this is
ugly and bad. On the other hand, strife may be required to prevent murder. This provides
a justification for strife, but does not make strife good - only justified. Strife could only be
necessary in an imperfect world.
